AI in hiring

A person makes every decision.

We use AI tools every day in our work, so you should know exactly how they touch your application, and how you are welcome to use them in yours.

How we use it

Organising, never deciding.

An AI assistant, Claude by Anthropic, may help us file your note, summarise what you sent and draft our reply to you.

  • It never ranks, scores or screens out applicants. Every note is read by a person.
  • It never decides who gets a call, an exercise or an offer. Brendan does.
  • It is never used to analyse your voice, face or video.
  • We tell you here, before you apply, so you are not finding out afterwards.

Your note is kept in our mailbox and business records for the same seven years as any other email, and you can ask to see or delete it at any time. Privacy

How you may use it

Welcome, as long as the work is yours.

We would be the last firm to tell you not to use AI. Use it to organise your thoughts, tidy your writing or prepare for the call.

  • Everything you submit must be true, and you must be able to stand behind every line of it.
  • The exercise is yours to do; use whatever tools you like, and expect to talk it through with us afterwards.
  • Tell us how you used AI if we ask. We are interested in how you work, not in catching you out.

The one thing that ends a conversation is a claim that turns out not to be yours: a credential you do not hold, work you did not do.

Why this page exists

The same rule runs through everything we do: a tool can make the work faster, and a person is responsible for the result. We check every fact before it reaches a client; we read every application ourselves.
